Electric scooters use lithium ion (li-ion) batteries that have built-in battery management systems (BMS). Li-ion batteries last long, charge quickly, are made of individual cells, and have excellent energy density (exchange of energy for weight/size).
The battery cells are classified by size: 18650 cells (18 mm x 65 mm) or 21700 cells (21 mm x 70 mm) are common. The larger the cells and pack, the greater the overall capacity. Li-ion batteries are classified by voltage (V) and Amp hours (Ah). The voltage is the number of battery cells in a pack. The amp hours indicate the capacity that can be stored in the battery. For example, the EMOVE Cruiser has a 52V 30 Ah battery, meaning there are 52 cells (18650 cells) with 30 Ah of overall capacity.
All of our Dualtron, EMOVE, and Kaabo electric scooters use li-ion batteries with 18650 or 21700 cells manufactured by Samsung, LG, Dynavolt or another UL-certified provider.
